Gotta have FAITH.

George Michael is going on tour!! He will be in the Bay Area at the HP Pavailion in San Jose on June 19th (thurs)... his first tour in 17 years!! He just released his new album "25" which you can download on itunes or buy via his online store at www.georgemichael.com. I know this must sound so cheesy and 80s of me, but I'm so excited, I just can't hide it... AND I just bought tickets!!! (the presale is almost over, you have to buy his album or become a member of the fan club to get the presale offer... and almost all the tickets are sold out already!) George Michael is one of my favorite and most listened-to (this was a secret) artists and I am a true believer that he is one of the most talented and understated musicians of all time. Never in my wildest dreams did I think he would just reappear and start touring again... so I'm really thrilled that this is all becoming a reality. All of his songs are so timeless... original and fun... and frankly I can't think of anyone else who can really play in the same field. I'm so happy he's making a comeback, he deserves it, and I've been waiting my whole life to see him in concert!!

Dana & Bob | San Francisco Engagement Photographer

Dana & Bob | San Francisco Engagement Photographer I shot Dana & Bob's engagement session up near Walnut Creek a few weekends ago. We couldn't have asked for nicer weather... it was warm, sunny and the mid-day sun had just passed over so lighting was great (but still really bright!). We started off at a park with a nice view of Mount Diablo. (Mount Diablo is claimed to have the second largest viewshed after Mount Kilimanjaro. On a clear day, it's pretty incredible...) Anyhow, after a short session out in the sunshine we headed over to the Lafayette Hotel near Walnut Creek to grab some shots. This hotel is very pretty -- modern with a nice classy feel. It was pretty quiet inside so we had a nice chance to get some shots out in the courtyard by the fountain. I really love seeing how excited two people are about their wedding day and all of the methodical planning that goes into it... we stopped by the church before the shooting began and it was a great opportunity to check out the space before the big day -- so I could get a feel for the lighting, setup, etc. I can't wait to shoot their wedding in June! Anyhow, check out some pics! Dana & Bob | San Francisco Engagement Photographer Dana & Bob | San Francisco Engagement Photographer Dana & Bob | San Francisco Engagement Photographer

New pics coming soon!

I know it's been a while since I've posted photos... I've been really busy and I promise to have some new photos up soon!! I've been shooting kids/family and engagement sessions -- prepping for the upcoming busy wedding season. A note about engagement sessions - I love shooting engagement sessions... For 3 reasons...

  1. it gives me a good opportunity to get to know the couple better and work out any kinks that may exist (do you squint? do you have a "better" side? etc)
  2. it's a really great feeling to be around people who are in love!! It drives me to really understand the couple's personalities and what they're envisioning for their wedding day, so that I can capture it the way they want (with my "eye" and magic touch of course).
  3. it's really fun to interact with the couple and be creative the shots... especially if the session is in a location where there are alot of different things to work with. Everyone's different and it's important to me for the photos to reflect that. I'm all about imagination and being experimental.
Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to this year's weddings (and using all of my new equipment)! So far, everything's a charm and I couldn't be more excited... so hang tight and check back for updates and new posts! I will leave you with a new photo I shot of my furry-faced daughter, Ponette. I shot this last weekend with my new lens. She is enjoying the sunshine, new windowsill and street view.
