San Francisco Fine Art Fair for 7×7
This past weekend I got to go to the San Francisco Fine Art Fair to shoot some photos for 7x7 Magazine. This is very exciting to me, as I was an Art major in college and I really appreciate these kinds of events. ...I got a big kick out of wearing a press badge inside that had my name on it and "7x7" hehe, very exciting!
So here I was at Fort Mason for the Art Fair. I took a bunch of photos...
There was a paper "airplane"-like installation hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the space. Super cool. Lots of people were taking photos of it, it gave the space a really creative and friendly vibe.
This is a painter who was doing live work!
I was there specifically to shoot the Young Collector's Event, which was held up in the loft space at the back of the Festival Pavilion. The shot above is of the Art Fair from up there...
When traffic slowed down, I conned some nice people into modeling for me. Up in the loft there was a staged area put together by Propeller in San Francisco. A really neat, modern (not sterile) and colorful space with a shag rug and geometric furniture. There were a ton of interesting books in the shelf... we took a couple out (sorry!) and shot some pics... fun times!
This piece above was one of my favorite pieces from the show. It was made from comic books (see detail below). Love the texture and colors... wish I could afford to buy it!
Lastly is the sculpture that greets you at the entrance of the show, and a nice neighboring horse sculpture.

Kira, nice job of taking pictures! It sounds like you had fun and enjoyed the SFFAF. I thought it came off really well and I’m happy 7 x 7 was able to experience it first hand. Many thanks, Seb
