Dear Ellen: Customer Of The Week
Dear Ellen,
How are you this fine rainy morning? Anything exciting happen last week? Here, nothing. In fact, I dont really have too much to write about today, boo sniff... but next week I'll have some good stuff.
Did I tell you I also work full time? It's true. Thanks to our lovely economy, my life goal to venture off into the world of entrepreneurship has been put on hold for a while. It's ok though because I like my job. I'll leave my company unnamed for now, but I will tell you that I work for a nationally recognized non-profit environmental organization. Happy belated Earth Day! This past weekend I had to work both Saturday and Sunday to train a group of volunteer leaders, so no time for any fun dog photoshoots. 🙁
This week is a little more dog friendly... I'm shooting a Bloodhound rescue on Wed night, and I'm SO EXCITED! I just hope it doesn't rain, because I woke up today and it was raining. My Project DOG submissions is still growing and now I have close to 200 submissions, but I'm still missing about 150 breeds... so the search continues.
Here are some pics of a few kitties I photographed last week when I went to the SFSPCA.
Hey, do you have Peet's coffee down there? I think you do... I don't know because I've never been to LA. Anyway, I've been having an affair with Peet's for the past 4 years. The first day I started my job, I looked out my window and saw Peet's across the street. Since then, I've been going there every morning for a non-fat latte, sometimes after lunch too! I drink Peet's many times per week, and I'm not ashamed to admit it - I just love it. They just know how to steam milk real good... not runny or bubbly or anything like that - silky and creamy and awesome!! (I will share my other favorite coffee spots with you sometime soon)
So, it's always been a goal of mine to become Customer of The Week. If they pick you, you get free drinks for the whole week! I've never been, but one time I came really close. Get this - we hired an intern here at work. She was a college student and during her first week working here, she went to Peet's with 2 girls from another department, and the 3 of them became Customers Of The Week, just like that. Who picks these people?!! I was really offended, especially since they're not even regulars! Since then, my quest to conquer Peet's has been put on the back burner... at this point they really don't deserve me, but it will always be a dream.
Today, in honor of my non-Customer Of The Week status, I made you Customer Of The Week!
Well that's it for this week, stay tuned for a doggie update next week!
Ciao,
Kira Stackhouse
