Friday Photo Tip #14 Centering 101
I'm pretty sure it's most people's natural instinct to try to center whatever they're taking a picture of. There's nothing wrong with that!! Today's tip will help you center things better....
#14 Center It!
As I mentioned, there's nothing wrong with centering your photo composition - in fact, I do it all the time. I do have a couple pointers though if you decide to center your subject. Hopefully this will help you out! a) USE THE VIEWFINDER If you're looking through your viewfinder, use the grid to help you! Most viewfinders will look similar to the one pictured to the left... some will have small circles, squares or gridlines to help you. Use the center dot/circle/square to focus on your subject - and also look to the left, top and bottom to make sure you are equi-distant from each side. b) ZOOM IN - don't forget to zoom in to really focus on your subject. Zooming in will bring the viewer closer to the subject and eliminate any distractions that may be in the background. Here are a few more examples of some of my favorite "centered" shots:Recommended Posts
