Grumpy Cat Visits Berkeley aka “Grumpytown USA”
What an extremely exciting weekend, Grumpy Cat visited Berkeley Humane yesterday to celebrate the launch of her new book, The Grumpy Guide to Life (Chronicle Books). Hundreds of people gathered outside Berkeley Humane's adoption center, eagerly awaiting the arrival of Grumpy Cat... who was eventually escorted by a 9-member police motorcade down the street, with Grumpy Cat in tow - riding in style inside a black Escalade...
Check out some of my favorite photos from this very Grumpy day... it was awesome!
Here are the giant ribbon-cutting scissors for the ceremony that now marks Berkeley as "Grumpytown USA".
Here she comes! Look at all this security!
Umm, I don't know about you, but do you see a resemblance here? Looks like Grumpy runs in the family!
Berkeley city officials speak and present Grumpy Cat with a certificate, officially naming Berkeley "Grumpytown USA"!
It's official!
If this isn't love than I don't know what is...
Ahhh, here's Tardar Sauce in all her glory! She was very alert, lots of spirit!
This is the line of people who did NOT have reserved tickets to meet Grumpy Cat. ACK!
Here's the area where people could meet adoptable dogs.
This is the area where Grumpy Cat was doing the meet and greet. There were about 500 people waiting in line otuside... wow!
This is where the meet-and-greet with Grumpy Cat took place. Everyone had a very quick turn to hop in next to Grumpy Cat for a photo. Ok, this lady below is quite simply the most amazing Grumpy Cat fan out there... really, there are no words to describe how great she is!
Tardar Sauce is tired and snoozes between guests...
Finally my turn for my photo with Grumpy Cat! "Oh, you again..." As you can see, I wore my cat MEOW shirt for the special occasion.
