Rescue Me: Muttville Dogs

I had a chance to snap some new photos of a few dogs yesterday at the Muttville City Hall event... these furballs are still looking for their forever homes!  If you or someone you know is interested in adopting one of these dogs, click here to fill out a Muttville adoption application. Rosalind

Breed Poodle Gender Female Size Small Neutered Yes Status Available Rosie is a happy girl, play-bowing and wagging, but that’s not how she came to us. After her lifelong person had fallen ill and left her, she was depressed and sad, with a terrible eye infection, lousy teeth, and some wobbly back legs. With loving care from her fosters and some great vets, Rosie bounced back to become a sweet and sassy little mama, 14 pounds of love. She still needs eye meds a few times a day, but everything else is going great. She loves other dogs, even the big ones, and is delighted with people, though she’s not fond of toddlers. Young at heart, silly and fun, she loves to go out on slow walks, and also loves to curl up and nap, especially if you’re next to her. (No steps, though, for the time being.)

Taffy (aka 977)

Breed Pomeranian Gender Female Size Small Neutered Yes Status Available This little girl must have gotten lost in Yolo County, because she was found stray and she is as loveable as they come! She was waiting at the shelter for her loved ones to come back for her, and nobody came to look for her. Little Taffy is a small Pomeranian with lots of spunk in her. She has the most beautiful smile, which makes it tempting not to spoil her. This 7 year old loves going for walks but also knows when it is time to snuggle. She would be great in any home!
Callie-2 | San Francisco Dog Photographer

Callie 2 (aka 943)

Breed Shih tzu/lhasa apso mix Gender Female Size Small Neutered Yes Status Available Our sweetest Callie, this darling little girl was wandering around a rural street, her eyes were matted over and she had burrs in her matted coat, poor thing. What a lovebug she is. She is finally cleaned up and she can see again! This girl is great with other dogs and loves all the attention she is getting with her new ‘do. She is fine with children and cats. She is a quiet girl and is housetrained, too! Callie is already a favorite around here! She needs to find her forever home. We think she is about 10 years old and she weighs 12 pounds.
Daisy 4 | San Francisco Dog Photographer

Daisy 4 (aka 970)

Breed Scottish deerhound/retriever mix. Gender Female Size Large Neutered Yes Status Available Daisy is an adorable, friendly dog who was taken to animal control after her owner died. She is about 9 years old and weighs around 60 pounds – appears to be a combination of the body of a black, flat-coated retriever with the head of an Airedale Terrier – very cute!! White eyebrows and muzzle just add to the picture. She is dog friendly and OK with cats and kids, too. She has a lot of energy. She is quiet and happy to ride in the car and is housetrained also. She walks well on a leash. She has clearly been lonely in the shelter and is understandably confused about being abandoned. Her tail wags constantly as she hopes everyone who sees her will be her new best friend. Daisy has shown signs of separation anxiety and will need a patient loving person to work with her on this. She is worth it!
Juniper | San Francisco Dog Photographer

Juniper (aka 939)

Breed Labrador retriever mix Gender Female Size Large Neutered Yes Status Available Juniper is a very smart and happy lady. She can keep up with the younger dogs, but also would enjoy a lazy day. Juniper will keep your kitchen floor very clean and will do anything for food. Watch your fingers! She has some hearing loss and can be vocal if left in a small area or outside alone. She knows sit and come with hand signals. Great offleash. Great in car. Always happy and loves all other dogs. She is in good health but is slow on stairs and needs a boost into the car. Juniper was found as a stray with another dog Muttville rescued named Henna. They are bonded but can be separated. Her age is a mystery, but we guess her to be about 10 yrs old. This is one sweet dog.
