Dear Ellen: All Fired Up!

Dear Ellen, Waz poppin?!!  Nothing much here.  Sorry I had to postpone my letter yesterday.. but you'll see that it was worth it, because I saw the legends  PAT BENATAR and REO SPEEDWAGON in concert (and I have pics to prove it!)!!! Hav (GF) gave me surprise tickets a couple weeks ago.. We went to the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA to see Erykah Badu a while back and I saw that Pat Benatar and REO Speedwagon was coming... when I got home I looked for tickets but could only find the nosebleed bleacher seats available so I put my dream to see Pat on hold... then we went out to eat and she told me she got tickets... but not just ANY tickets - 3rd ROW tickets!!!! ....HOLY CANNOLI!!! Seeing Pat Benatar was one of my ultimate dream of dreams coming true.... Anyway, me and Pat go way back too.  I grew up listening to her on the radio... I'm all about 80s rock.  ALL OF IT!!! Some favorites being Pat Benatar, HEART, Chicago, REO Speedwagon, Joan Jett, Patty Smith, the Pretenders, the Motels, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Cure, Erasure, Billy Idol, etc etc... you know, all the goodies.  I guess you can say I'm kind of stuck in the 80s/early 90s... guess that's what happens when you get old - you just stick with what you know. So here's a pic of me... that's REO Speedwagon in the background.  They were singing "Take It On The Run". OMG then later Kevin Cronin (lead singer) came down off the stage and sat right next to Hav!  It was only for a split second, but I managed to snap a quick pic.... hahahaaaa!! So after REO Speedwagon we waited for about a half hour while they set up for Pat Benatar.  I LOVE PAT BENATAR!!!  Did I say that already?  Hmmm, well yeah.  She is amazing and I always said that if I could be a rock star (that was the plan in my early 20s), I would make music like Pat Benatar meets the Cranberries meets Heart. Basically, 80s rock meets 90s alternative.  That would be the bomb. I told you that I love to sing, didn't I?  Well, I do.  And this is completely random, but I've sung amidst 2 famous people before hahaha.... Once in a karaoke dive bar in NYC I got to sing "Love Shack" with Fred Schneider (of the B52s), and then another time I took the house down with "Natural Woman" at Kathleen Hanna's Virgo party. ...Just sayin'. Things in Project DOG land are AMAZING.  Everything seemed to have taken a turn for the better in the past week or so.  I'm up over 2000 followers on Twitter now and over 400 on Facebook - all viral!  Can't even believe it... it's really starting to gain momentum and I can't wait to see how far it can take me.  I spent alot of time working on the Project DOG website over the past few days and I got some cool new web banners and badges there that people can download to help show their support.  So far so good! Last week was also awesome because I found 3 breeds that I can now cross off my list!  A Cane Corso, Brussels Griffon, and Australian Terrier!  I really can't believe that this is actually happening.  This project is really starting to take off and I'm soooo excited about it!! Oh one last thing - Remember OREO, the Pitbull from the Berkeley Humane who I told you about last week?  Well, good news - HE GOT ADOPTED!!!  Can't believe it.... after 282 days in shelter care!  ...And it turns out that the person who adopted him is my friend on Twitter.  Small world, eh?! Hope you have a great week more doggie photos coming soon! PS - this is the LAST letter you will get from your 20-something year old friend.  Next week I am joining club 30!
