Mi ACLU Estamos Unidos: Day 2, City 4 – East Los Angeles
I'm a little late in blogging because i had a major computer malfunction and did not have access to my computer for 2 days (more about that in the Phoenix post). It is 1am Friday morning as I write and we are driving to San Antonio, Texas from El Paso. This morning we started in Phoenix, so it's been a really long day on the road.
So the photos below are from this past Monday when we went to East Los Angeles College for an event they hosted supporting anti-discrimination law and SB1070. We arrived to the event around 8am to set up and get ready... I was completely exhausted after going to 2 events then driving and editing in the van the entire previous day... exhausting!

Daniel Galindo, an organizer with the ACLU of Northern California was interviewed by many spanish news stations. Here he is having his first interiew of the day.
Below are a few supporters showing off their awesome Estamos Unidos poster! I came up with the idea for this campaign to take a photo of as many people as I could from around the country holding the poster to help promote the diversity of people who support the campaign. So far so good, you can view the growing image gallery on FB HERE.
Part of the morning's entertainment was music by the young band Las Cafeteras. They are from LA and came out to the event - awesome upbeat music with fun beats, and very creative instruments! They do not use traditional instraments (besides a guitar?) and the girl below has a basket of random things including an old jaw bone that she strums and shakes.
Above is the Executive Director of the ACLU of Southern California Hector Villagra.
We started packing up and officially hit the road at 11:30 to start heading down to San Diego...
