Dear Ellen: How Do You Eat Your Oreo?

Dear Ellen, Boooo yeoooow!! How's it going?  I'm doing GREAAAAT this week.  Besides my epic headache which has lasted for the past month or so, I'm doing really well and I'm super pumped about all the photoshoots I've been having lately.  I had some time to finally catch up on a couple weddings I shot and some other portrait sessions so now I'm pretty much home free and charging forward with Project DOG. A few weeks ago I had a very special photoshoot with a special guy named Oreo from the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society.  I noticed a post they made on their Facebook page a while back about how Oreo was their longest shelter resident and I felt compelled to give him a new photo makeover... the goal being to help bring some more attention to him and help him find his forever home. Oreo is just a year old, and he's spent almost the entire life in shelter care.  He arrived at BEBHS at about 12 weeks old, his ears badly cut and his leg injured.  He has been under the care of the wonderful BEBHS staff ever since - fully recovered and completely trained and ready to go to his new home! Here's a few pics I took of Oreo, just to show you since I know you like black and white animals.  Look at his face and tell me you don't love him.... seriously?  I should start taking videos because this guy is totally well behaved... better behaved than many of the dogs I know!  I think it's really cool and very admirable that the team over at BEBHS spends a lot of time with the dogs before they are ready for adoption - they dedicate many hours to each dog's behavior to make sure they are ready to be great canine citizens.  It definitely works and I wish more shelters and rescues would implement something like this - it would be a great service to both the dogs and the families that adopt them. This past weekend I had a bunch of photoshoots for Project DOG.... I met up with Bailey the Giant Schnauzer, Mickey the Irish Wolfhound and Mickey's brother Eddie the Papillon.  Eddie was an extra bonus.... 🙂 Here's a couple photos of Bailey the Giant Schnauzer.  She is SOOOO cool.  I never met a Giant Schnauzer before and actually, I didn't even know they came in "giant" size until recently. Bailey's almost a year old and she lives with her parents in the north bay.  Freakin A, Giant Schnauzers are so cool!! Here are 2 more better pics of Bailey - the sun was so bright that you can't really see her face in that pic above..... On Sunday I met Mickey the Irish Wolfhound.  He's a rescue dog and lives in San Francisco.  I never met an Irish Wolfhound before I moved to San Francisco.  Actually I never even knew what they were until I saw the Irish Wolfhound club outside City Hall a few years ago around pride time.  There were about 6 or 7 of them in a pack, they scared the freakin shitake out of me!  ...That was before I was a "dog person" though... now I see them in a completely different light, hehe.  🙂 Anyway, Mickey is sooo gentle and sweet, he is HUGE - but apparently for Irish Wolfhounds, he's on the smaller side at just 120lbs or so.  He is 5 years old and has the personality of a puppy... he definitely still has the puppy prance, so cute!  Mickey's best friends are small dogs and he loves to run around on the beach. He came along for the ride so I figured I'd let him in on a photo too. 🙂 Oh yeah, here's a photo of me and Mickey.  I'm 5'1" if you're wondering... hehe.  I think I'll be taking pics of myself with all the dogs going forward...
