Dear Ellen: We Are Family!

Dear Ellen,

HAPPY PRIDE!! Hehee... it was Pride Weekend here in SF this past weekend and we had so much fun!  Let me back up though before I tell you about pride.... Early last week I had a photoshoot with Jester, the purebred Cocker Spaniel for Project DOG.  It was AWESOME!  Jester is such a little black and white cutie... he's amazingly well-behaved too which is always a plus considering we had the photoshoot near the road and there were tons of people and distractions around.  Anyway, Jester, aka Jess/Jesse, was a superb doggie model if I must say so myself.  Here's a pic I snapped of the two of you romping in the grass. It was freaking perfect because Jester's sister, a rescue Cocker Spaniel came along too, so I also took some photos of her!  She is an 11 year old Cocker Spaniel rescue.  She's a really spunky gal and loooves to do her tricks!   ...Harleigh thought you were pretty tasty! Right now I'm totally pumped because I'm working on the official first draft "sample" book so that I can start pitching publishers in the next couple months.  I can't wait!  I'm also looking for media and other sponsors, if you're interested or now anyone else who is.  This includes airlines, hotels, food, dog treats, rental cars, etc... anything that can help subsidize my travel costs, hehe. This past weekend was also a very big weekend in San Francisco - home of the 40th anniversary of the Gay Pride Parade/festival.  I guess it's actually the "LGBT Gay Pride Parade"... not sure what's PC these days, sorry, LOL. Anyway, I was really excited because the SF/SPCA asked me to walk with them in the parade and take pics!!  On Saturday I popped by the SPCA to pick up my official "contingent" tshirt - and one for my GF and I bought another one to make into a Scutte tee for Harley.  When I got there I found out that one of my other favorite dog rescues, Muttville, was walking with us too, yay! I moved to San Francisco 6 years ago to celebrate my gayness only to discover that being gay in SF is just like having brown eyes or being Asian for that matter - no body freaking cares here and it's just the way things are... it's a good thing!  So I "celebrated" ALOT the first 2 years I lived here but the excitement kind of fizzled off and I haven't really celebrated pride since... I do miss it though because I love big parties and being outside and parades... So walking in the parade was the perfect dose of gay for the day  since I hardly have any gay friends anymore to party with and I'm just getting too old for that anyway ugh! So when I got home I got stitchin and made Harley a shirt to wear to support the SPCA!  Harley looks real handsome in his new SPCA ringer tee, don'tcha think?  This particular shirt fits him very well, and the colors are perfect for him!  I cant' tell you how many people thought he was up for adoption at the parade, OOPS... SORRY, no...HE'S MINE LOL!! Check out a few of the pride photos! This week is going by really slow so far but hopefully it will pick up because a) the bike that I ordered from ENGLAND arrived yesterday (3- day delivery = amazing!) and my new glasses will be coming in too... so I have a couple things to look forward to. Hope you had a great weekend!
